The Thought Tailor has been a transformative experience for me, reshaping my perception of English. Previously disliking English lessons, TTT has made them enjoyable, and I eagerly anticipate each session for their clarity and understanding. The provided notes are invaluable during exam revision, giving me an advantageous edge in school.

TTT’s distinctive feature lies in its specialised techniques that enhance various aspects of the English Language. From learning unique annotation methods to personalised methods and techniques, TTT has sharpened my skills significantly. The curated materials, including notes and past-year papers, cater to diverse lessons, fostering better preparation for examinations. The variety of questions from different schools in the provided worksheets and practices further contribute to a comprehensive learning experience. I especially enjoy the Oral workshops arranged by the centre that are specially catered to each student so that we can pick up techniques and skills before the examinations.

Having spent three years at TTT, I achieved an outstanding A1 in the GCE O Levels—an incredible improvement from my previous struggles with the subject. I attribute this success to TTT’s effective teaching methods and extensive support.

I express sincere gratitude to Mr. Russell for making lessons relatable and enjoyable. His ability to identify mistakes and offer constructive feedback has been pivotal in my growth. Beyond tuition lessons, Mr. Russell’s unwavering support and guidance have been instrumental in helping me strive for my personal best. TTT, under Mr. Russell’s leadership, has truly been a catalyst for my success in English.

Joining The Thought Tailor, albeit later than most students, is a choice that I will never regret. Each lesson comes with detailed notes that cover various sections of Paper 1 and Paper 2, which builds a more comprehensive understanding of the English Language. Many of the techniques and tips included have enhanced my ability and confidence to tackle different questions.

As an online student, all of the curated materials were provided through online documents. This made revision much easier as I could access them anytime and anywhere, which was a lifesaver, especially for a quick recap during the few minutes before O levels. I’m grateful for my teacher, Ms Chung, who taught with dedication and commitment. She was very enthusiastic in helping us understand different English skills. Most importantly, she patiently guided us through applying what we learnt to answer a wide variety of questions. After class, she also graciously answers any doubts that we want to clarify individually.

Overall, lessons with TTT have been very fulfilling. Thank you, TTT and Ms Chung for helping me get an A for O level English!

I joined The Thought Tailor in my O Level year and their sharp and structured teaching style has helped me to improve my English. Their resources and notes provided to me were also a huge asset especially for my comprehension. Being concise and filled with examples, it was easy to understand and made my revision much simpler.

Additionally, the many practices and model essays given to us have not only expanded my vocabulary, but also provided a vast range of resources to tap on.

Moreover, Mr Russell and other teachers at the centre were also extremely helpful, clearing any doubts or queries I had and making sure I understood the lesson and the methods used to derive the answers.

With the help of these dedicated teachers, alongside the plethora of concise and methodical notes, I was able to score A1 for O Levels in less than a year.

Mr Russell always takes us very seriously, willingly listening to all the possible issues that we may have and trying his best to resolve all of them. I greatly appreciate his determination to help us do well in English. Before attending tuition lessons at TTT, I thought English was a subject that could not be studied and was rather a ‘either you can or cannot’ subject.

After attending his lessons, I realised that I was completely wrong. The fact is, it is actually possible to prepare for English. After joining TTT, I started focusing more on honing the skills Mr Russell taught me, including how to answer each comprehension question type. Within a few months, I noticed significant improvement in my comprehension grades and I owe it all to Mr Russell.

The notes and materials he gave to us were also extremely useful. They included clear and concise explanations for difficult concepts as well as unique examples or tricks to give me an edge over other students. The notes allowed me to understand exactly which skills to practise and master before my exams.

Mr. Russell is also a very interesting person. He makes his lessons fun and enjoyable by making a few jokes and witty comments. This helps to keep the class environment lively such that I never feel bored in class.

I would like to thank Mr Russell for his never give up attitude towards all of us and changing my perspective towards English. I would strongly recommend him to other students as he is able to adapt his lessons to suit a student’s learning needs, overall making it easier to understand his lessons. I managed to improve from a C6 (MYE) to a B3 (O Level) in just four months!

I’ve always had a weak foundation in English and I was always getting F9s for my tests and exams, which made me lose a lot of confidence and motivation in English. Previously, I always thought that to score well in English, we just have to read more books and to write more essays. However, when I first joined TTT, they completely debunked that mindset, and taught me the correct approaches and techniques needed to do well in English. TTT’s teaching approaches are very interesting as they are often extremely thorough and in-depth, yet, they still manage to teach it in a very clear and understandable manner. The teaching style at TTT has shaped my thinking process and evaluation, and it taught me to be more precise and detail-oriented in my work. The notes are designed specifically to answer O Level questions, and are defined to help us master the skills in the most effective manner.

In addition, Mr Russell is very adamant about always giving us the best. Mr. Russell would often prepare the best notes, and seek to make them better, and to cover more ground (such as content notes for the oral examinations).

These materials are often not provided in school, as well as anywhere else. Although he is strict, it truly taught me how I can be more specific and demanding with how precise my answers should be, and to always strive for perfection.

I would like to thank Mr Russell for working very hard for us and I appreciate all the notes, lessons and his texts/calls. The learning environment and the culture of the class is highly commendable and it allows us to work together and support one another to strive for the best possible results. Thanks to TTT, I eventually scored a B4 for O Levels. I would highly recommend TTT to my friends and my family!

Before joining TTT, I dreaded English. I thought English was a subject that I just could not excel in.

However, after a few lessons at TTT, I learnt essential techniques and tips to ace my compositions. This was also the case for comprehension, in which we picked up step by step skills required to address each comprehension question type.

Moreover, the teachers, especially Ms. Tham were extremely patient and willing to help me correct my mistakes and guide me during oral practices.

These skills-based lessons and student-centric coaching helped me to improve my grades from a D7 to an A2.

All in all, my experience at TTT was an enriching and fulfilling one. I am glad to have joined TTT.

I had an excellent experience with TTT, which played a significant role in improving my academic performance. My grades increased dramatically from a C5 in Sec 3 to consistently achieving distinctions after joining TTT.

Ms. Chung, my teacher, has been instrumental in my progress. She always took the time to mark extra essays I submitted and consistently encouraged me to send more.

Additionally, she provided valuable tips to help me further refine my writing. Ms. Chung is always available to answer questions, even outside of class, and is eager to provide guidance whenever needed.

I’m confident that continuing with TTT for GP will help me excel, as they have the right teachers to support and nurture my growth in this challenging subject.

One of my favourite features of the lessons here would be how willing Mr Russell was in trying to help me better understand and rectify my mistakes. Even during Zoom lessons, Mr Russell would talk to me privately in a separate breakout room in an effort to ensure that I knew where my mistakes lay. Mr Russell and all his other assistant tutors as well are extremely dedicated to their students, which I appreciate a lot.

Furthermore, lesson materials are very well-prepared at TTT. Throughout the short period I joined TTT, I was provided with loads of practice as well as their comprehensive, one-of-a-kind notes.

I did not know that there were so many subtypes of questions under the same type of comprehension questions until I joined TTT! With the skills I have honed during these lessons, I was better able to provide more accurate answers to each type of question, which surely played a part in improving my English scores.

I am very grateful for not only the concise notes and lesson materials but also the dedication of the teachers and the support that they have given me throughout my entire O Level period. I am very happy that I managed to score an A1 for English with their help.
