Dr. Lee brings a unique blend of educational expertise and technological savvy to his role as a self-proclaimed tech geek. He spent eight years teaching O-Level, IP, and IBDP subjects at Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), where he worked with students from both mainstream and Gifted Education Programme (GEP) classes. His most rewarding experience was learning from students with learning disabilities in the GEP, which deepened his understanding of inclusive education.

Following this, he conducted research at the National Institute of Education, focusing on conceptual development, social learning, and learning technology. He also mentored trainee drama teachers during their teaching practicum. His Ph.D. study with the National Institute of Education’s English Language and Literature department explored identity strategies in everyday conversations using big data analytics. After a stint in the non-profit Arts and Culture sector, where he honed his managerial skills, Dr. Lee has returned to his first love — teaching.

Honestly, I used to hate humanities. But with all the tips and techniques I’ve learned here, they feel so much more manageable now.

Dhivya

(Bowen Secondary)

The source analysis practices were so helpful! The sample answers showed me exactly how to structure my arguments and support them with evidence.

Xin Yee

Unity Secondary

I like the fact that the classes here are very well-structured, with something to learn and master in every lesson. This was not something that is common, as most of the time, the lessons in school just consist of practices and more practices.

Vijay

(Commonwealth Secondary School)

The revision materials are incredible! It is way better than what my school offers. The summary sheets and mindmap helped me connect to see the bigger picture.

Yi Xin

Hougang Secondary

The notes are so detailed and well-organised, covering all the key issues and topics in social studies. They made my revision so much easier and effective

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why do I need Social Studies tuition?

You may not need Social Studies tuition if you can dedicate countless hours daily to mastering the intricacies of the subject. If you can independently analyse sources, understand key concepts in societal issues and human interactions; if you can consistently engage with past GCE O-Level papers and grasp the nuances of exam questions; if you already have strong study skills and can refine your arguments without guidance; and if you receive adequate support from your school teachers, then tuition might not be necessary.

However, consider the time and effort required to understand complex social concepts, the need for personalised feedback, and the challenge of staying informed about relevant examples. Now, imagine achieving top marks without these obstacles. This is why many students choose to join The Thought Tailor—your path to success in Social Studies.
