Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why do I need IP Language Arts tuition?

Here at The Thought Tailor, we strongly believe that IP Language Arts tuition is vital to supplement your learning and education. Our highly proficient and adept tutors can tailor lessons to fit your specific needs, addressing areas where you might be struggling or require additional practice. This personalised approach ensures that you focus on the aspects of IP Language Arts that are most relevant to you. Additionally, the competency level required to master English at the IP level is an enormous leap from the Primary level, and IP Language Arts tuition will go a long way in helping you bridge this seemingly daunting gap. Lastly, Secondary English tuition is also vital to help you strengthen your fundamentals and establish a firm foundation in English before progressing on to English at the Junior College (JC) level.

While O-Level English focuses more on developing students’ linguistic and oral competencies, IP Language Arts, on the other hand, places greater emphasis on critical thinking, logical reasoning, and deductive skills. Moreover, both curriculums have different exam formats. IP Language Arts paper comprises essay writing components and reading comprehension, without the oral, listening comprehension, and editing sections which are present in O-Level English. The biggest difference between IP Language Arts and O-Level English lies in the complexity and depth of language discourse. IP Language Arts is not just about language skills, but also how language can be harnessed as a force to construct meaningful discussion about societal issues.

It depends on the teacher, whether the teacher has robust and updated notes, or the competence to substantiate all fronts. The Thought Tailor provides curated guidance on all the foundational skills required for excelling in General Paper, such as essay structure, argument development, and critical analysis. Our individualised attention and GP essay diagnosis is catered to all your personal needs. This will help you enhance your GP writing skills and boost your GP exam performance without a doubt.

IP Language Arts can be a daunting subject to many due to the complex and convoluted nature of the topic. The diverse nuances of each word as well as the vast interpretations of each idea makes Language Arts so intricate and difficult to master. It requires a strong grasp of the English language, as well as mastery of skills like critical thinking and deductive reasoning, which most students would not have developed yet when stepping into the IP curriculum. That said, do not be discouraged by this ominous situation. IP Language Arts is not as intimidating as it may seem. We are dedicated to equipping you with the skills and knowledge needed to overcome this hurdle and help you ace your IP Language Arts exams with confidence and ease!

It depends. There are many different types of English teachers in the industry, varying in experience, preparedness and intellect. Our teachers at TTT are passionate, award-winning MOE-trained teachers, with decades of experience teaching O-Level English in a wide spectrum of schools, including RI, HCI, NYJC, VJC, CJC, TJC, ACJC, SAJC, ACSI, Nan Hua High, RGS and ACS Junior. Our teaching and research faculty are also graduates from prestigious universities that you are aspiring to study at, with the required training (Master’s and PhD) in EL/GP-related fields of English literature, politics, global studies and sociology.
