When I first joined the centre, I was not sure what was going to happen, and honestly I did not expect much then, because I had long been struggling in terms of getting a decent grade for EL, and I felt that it was not possible to learn or study English.
But after joining The Thought Tailor, I slowly gained a better sense of understanding in English. I learnt more skills and techniques that I never knew existed which helped me alot. I used to struggle a lot during the examinations itself but after joining the tuition, not only did I gain more confidence but when I am doing the paper, it was not as hard as before. I learnt skills, actual skills that I can learn, master and apply. Through guided drills, the wonderful lessons and also group work, 1 was able to improve first from a borderline pass to a B3 at the end of Secondary 1, and then to a consistent A grade in Secondary 2. I even managed to top my class, and attain one of the top three places in the entire cohort for the end of year exams!
One of Mr. Russell’s strengths is that he can pinpoint weaknesses and areas of growth. I find that to be extremely important because he can tell me key areas of improvements and then strategise and find an approach so that I can eliminate my issues and see maximum results. Mr. Russell is also very kind, patient and enthusiastic, and his lessons are often very interesting. I would like to thank the centre and my teacher for the constant support which helped me to not only improve my English skills but also my confidence.
