There are two big things I love about TTT.

Firstly, I love that their notes are very comprehensive. I really love the notes, especially the O Level revision notes. Why I say the notes are comprehensive is because the notes really enabled me to understand how to properly answer the different question types in paper 1 & 2. The sample essays are written by other students and teachers in TTT. Whenever I was revising/ reading the essays, I would annotate and find out the meaning of certain words I wasn’t sure of. After reading the model essays, I was inspired and motivated to improve and write better essays. And some may ask how these notes benefitted me? The notes helped me to apply the skills taught in TTT such as writer’s craft (Both in paper 1 & 2) in my O Level examinations this year. I can fully assure you of this because after my English paper, I have never felt so happy and proud after completing an English paper as I knew that I had executed all the skills I have learnt well.

Secondly, I greatly appreciate the feedback given by teachers as they helped me to identify my areas for improvement. The worksheets used in class are targeted at a specific component tested in our English papers. This helped me quickly figure out which components I had to work on more. For essays, they would get us to write essay drafts and then submit them for marking. When marking, the teachers would give highly detailed comments to allow us to easily understand where we had to improve on.

After that, we would be tasked to do corrections which the teachers would look through again.

Besides that, Mr Russell is extremely good at explaining comprehension text and teaching us how to analyse the text well. Once he went through the O Level text in the TYS, I better understood why some other schools gave different answers and why they were actually wrong. Till today, I still remember before our English O Level Paper 2, he sent us a long message of paper 2 tips and reminded us of some important pointers so that we don’t make the same mistakes for our national examinations.

All my small successes in English were all thanks to Mr Russell and the teachers in TTT. I really appreciate the effort the teachers had put into making the notes, curating lessons and giving us feedback just to ensure we excel in our O Levels. I did not have the chance to properly thank the teachers. Hence, I shall take this opportunity to thank them. Thank you!
