Before I joined TTT, my basics were not strong. Throughout my years in Secondary 1 to 3, I had a lot of issues in terms of writing proper sentence structures and expressions. Mr. Russell was sharp in terms of identifying my issues and he gave me simple tips and tricks to help me make immediate improvements.
Furthermore, he does not just stop at just correcting mistakes. He also teaches advanced language techniques as well as comprehension skills in order to help us ace our papers. These techniques and skills were easy to apply, and my favourite set of materials would be the argumentative vocabulary list, which is structured to give certain high-impact words that we can use for different sections of the essay (e.g. this essay will expound…’). These words were easy to use and remember and it helped me to improve the quality of my essays.
Mr. Russell is not an ordinary teacher. He is one of the best English teachers that I have ever had. His teaching methods are superior, detailed and effective for all students, and he constantly works very hard to ensure that he continues to become better and better every single year. Thank you for the lessons at TTT and for helping me obtain my desired 3 grade improvement in a matter of months.
