I have always had trouble passing my English paper, especially in terms of essay writing. In the beginning, I tried other tuition, including 1-to-1 tuition and group tuition but they were not effective and I continued to struggle. At the time, I found that I simply could not pass my English Language Paper.

However, things changed after Mr. Russell took over my class in school. He was a very different type of teacher. Initially he was firm and strict, and wanted us to follow his methods and he wanted us to present answers in the template that he provided. Frankly, initially, I found this slightly odd as it was very different from what I was used to and I was not sure if it was worth it to follow his methods. However, I figured it would not harm to try and to my surprise, I finally managed to pass my English test. When I heard that Mr. Russell had to quit school, I was quite troubled. I did not know if I could meet a teacher like him again. The next teacher who took over my class did not really bother to teach us skills. I was feeling dejected and thought that perhaps things would be like how it was in the past, when I did not have any effective lessons in school or in tuition classes. However, I soon found out that Mr. Russell had started a tuition centre and I immediately decided to join it.

Together with a number of my classmates in my school, we all joined TTT and worked really hard in Secondary 4 to prepare for our N levels. Lessons were fun, engaging and most importantly skills-based in nature. I never thought that I would be able to secure a Grade 3 for my N level having been stuck at Grade 7 previously. I was shocked. The hard work and time at the centre had paid off! Thanks to Mr. Russell and TTT, I managed to gain an opportunity to do a direct entry into the poly foundation year.

Mr. Russell is a really unique teacher. I really enjoyed his lessons. He is like a wonderful older brother who is always there for me. Thank you for everything!
