Mr Russell is by far the best teacher that I have ever had in my entire life. I have never seen a teacher who can be so entertaining and also productive at the same time. Firstly and most importantly, I really like how he is more of a brother rather than an authoritative teacher. I like this because it makes learning easier and a more pleasant experience if your teacher is more of a friend rather than someone unapproachable. He is always caring, and he often checks on us to see if we are coping well in school. I could always consult him, and I looked forward to our interactions. I find this to be rather fascinating, because prior to joining TTT, I was in fact reluctant to take up English tuition. So I am therefore glad that my friend and my mum convinced me to attend this! This added support is crucial especially since this year was a difficult year for us. It was the year when we had to prepare for a national examination in the middle of a huge COVID-19 outbreak.
I think the learning process at TTT was rather perfect too! The notes and worksheets that were prepared for us were of high quality, covering every single aspect of the English paper. Not a single component was left out, and there were different details that were all covered, including skills/strategy such as the thinking process, step by step approach, answering techniques, variations in questions requirements, types of questions, and some additional, more sophisticated techniques that were all covered. There were even skills notes and drills for oral communication, and even content notes for oral too, which really shows that Mr. Russell really does not leave any stones unturned. I particularly enjoyed the content notes on bossaball.
It was something that I discussed both in my oral exams as well as in my school essays and O level essays. There is always a strategy for anything and everything, and it is always efficient. I also like the fact that the notes were formatted and presented in an efficient manner, with revision/summary sheets for the key aspects of every set of notes.
TTT’s unique approach to teaching and the way they clearly explain various English techniques makes it stand out from other centres. Before coming to TTT, I was unable to answer comprehension questions as I did not know the techniques to answer them properly. TTT taught me how to answer comprehension questions with ease and improved my comprehension scores by leaps and bounds! Through the lessons at TTT, I managed to improve quickly to become one of the top scorers in my recent end of year examinations!
