Before joining TTT, I was constantly scoring low to average marks for my English Language, and had struggled. particularly in my comprehension. I always did poorly in my comprehension as I did not have a clear idea and view on how to answer, and what skills and techniques I should apply for the various comprehension questions.
However, ever since I joined TTT, I have learned a lot about these techniques, as well as other approaches to tackling the various comprehension question types, allowing me to finally be able to apply them in a correct and effective manner. TTT is unlike other centres. TTT truly stands out from other centres due to their structured, yet in-depth set of notes for each and every component tested. They also have targeted, intensive skills drilling programmes for the skills taught, with the lessons helping us provide a recap on how to answer the component, and worksheets designed, categorised and specifically tailored to their question types. This was especially helpful for me as this way, we were able to focus on our area of weakness and to work on them directly, as well as to enable us to see a pattern and to strengthen our application of techniques.
The classes are conducted in a clear, concise and straightforward manner. Mr Russell is also usually able to predict our queries and will clarify them directly when teaching the lesson. He also highlights certain skills and factors for us to take note of so that we can achieve a higher level of understanding. This really helped me as it allowed me to learn easily and know what exactly I need to focus on, and what important details to pay attention to when doing my work. In addition, the way he teaches is extremely engaging as he often incorporates funny personal stories into his lesson time, to keep the atmosphere light and to create a more ideal environment for all. He is very passionate about his work and is constantly encouraging his students to do better.
I am extremely grateful for Mr Russell and would like to thank him for making the class interesting and fun. He is obviously passionate about teaching. After each lesson, he would give us practices and mark them directly to check on our progress and to identify any misconceptions we may have when doing the question. TTT provides a more detailed teaching method as compared to methods learnt in school, allowing me to be more precise and careful in my work and to strive for perfection!
Thank you TTT for allowing me to better understand how to tackle English as a subject! I believe it would have otherwise been very difficult for me to experience a 2 grade jump and secure my B3 in my O Levels in just a few months.
