Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why do I need GP tuition?
You do not need GP tuition, not everybody has tuition – If you can devote numerous hours daily to stay updated on the latest news and determine its relevance and impact on key GP arguments; if you can brainstorm effectively from the GP essay questions posed; if you can find subtle nuances in the GP essay question; if you already possess thorough critical thinking skills, if you can spend literally hours to refine one GP essay, if you can credibly connect all the dots; if you can consistently receive sufficient personalised help from your school GP teachers; if you already have the context to understand everything your GP teacher shares in class, if you have looked at the past 9 years of A-Level and Prelim Papers and are prepared for all GP essay question types; if you have all relevant SG examples for GP AQ; if you can master all GP comprehension question types. Then you do not need GP tuition. Consider the time you need to spend, the neural effort required to untangle complicated concepts, the availability of your school GP teachers’ time, the uncertainty in the credibility of your GP essays. Now imagine if you can get A without all these obstacles. This is why many students choose to join The Thought Tailor – the best GP tuition in Singapore.
Why is GP such a hard subject?
There is no fixed GP essay content. It’s like MMA, versatile and complex. You can discover any topic from fiction to reality. Most importantly, there are no right answers for GP essays. You, your school teachers, or other centres, may have the “right” answer or stand to a GP essay question with seemingly flawless points. I promise you, we can tear it down. Instead of settling for the easier-to-write answers, The Thought Tailor provides you with all answers, from all sides. You decide which answers you prefer. Say hello to your new complex essay
What resources/materials are provided in General Paper Tuition?
At The Thought Tailor, you will delve into a wide variety of specific GP topics such as global and local current affairs, social and political issues, ethical dilemmas, etc. You will also develop critical thinking, GP essay writing techniques and comprehension skills, mastering the ability to analyse and discuss complex issues from varying viewpoints. We provide a plethora of content lectures, essay outlines, drill sets and even learning journeys to complement your learning from all angles.
Is GP Tuition useful?
It depends on the teacher, whether the teacher has robust and updated notes, or the competence to substantiate all fronts. The Thought Tailor provides curated guidance on all the skills required for excelling in General Paper, such as essay structure, argument development, and critical analysis. Our individualised attention and GP essay diagnosis is catered to all your personal needs. This will help you enhance your GP writing skills and boost your GP exam performance without a doubt.
Are GP tutors qualified?
It depends. There are many different types of GP teachers in the industry, varying in experience, preparedness and intellect. Our teachers at TTT are passionate, award-winning MOE-trained teachers, with decades of experience teaching GP in a wide spectrum of schools, including RI, HCI, NYJC, VJC, CJC, TJC, ACJC, SAJC, ACSI, Nan Hua High, RGS and ACS Junior. How much does GP tuition cost?
You can refer to our page on the payment and fees structure for different groups of students at here
Does TTT A-Level GP tuition offer make-up classes?
Yes. Make-up classes must be done within the week to ensure that the student keeps abreast with the rigorous curriculum installed for our students. With The Thought Tailor offering the most student-centric tuition in Singapore, you will never be left behind.
Does TTT A-Level GP tuition offer 1-1 tuition?
Yes, because you do not need to. There are unlimited free consultations for students to book with teachers. We pride ourselves in providing attention akin to 1-1 tuition, with the structured curriculum of an institution, at an approachable price.
What are the success rates or testimonials from past students in TTT A-Level GP tuition?
You can access our testimonials and success rates in the main page of our website
What can I do to improve my GP?
You can consider listening to podcasts and reading news articles during your commute to school to stay updated and listen to insights for your GP essay. Find a group of friends and, similar to a book club, share interesting insights and news updates. Subsequently, you should consider writing GP essay outlines instead of full essays because if the GP essay outline is terrible, writing the entire GP essay is a waste of time and seeing a big red cross drawn across the page would be extremely discouraging. Despite ChatGPT’s existence, GP is not something you can cram and expect to do really well. It is extremely understandable to dislike some GP topics, so start with other GP topics you enjoy before dipping your toes into those you find boring. At The Thought Tailor, you will be exposed to the complete array of GP topics and the template formulas for all GP essay types. You will harness precision in GP Paper 2 answering techniques with the unending load of drill sets for all comprehension question types; answer AQ with ease, with our AQ Summary Booklets alongside you.
Where are the various TTT centres located?
We are located near Novena MRT, Botanic Gardens MRT, Tan Kah Kee MRT and Jurong East MRT. With great convenience and diverse locations, you are spoilt for choice. However, if you prefer the comfort of your home, you can consider having your GP tuition online with us.
