The notes prepared by Mr. Russell is extremely useful and all the drill practices are beneficial too. The notes are well prepared, catering to all, including those who are weak in English. Furthermore, drills and practices prepared by the teacher are extremely useful as it targets specific weaknesses such as narrative comprehension or for specific question types.
Mr. Russell also covers every single comprehension skill type and also every single situational writing and continuous writing question type. He also goes through every single O level past year exam paper and marks all of them, even pointing out the flaws in our understanding of skills – something that not all school teachers do. He has also set aside a lot of time for oral drills, even after our usual lessons, so that we would have at least 6-8 sessions of oral tests, to ensure that we were able to apply the right strategies. Furthermore, Mr. Russell would usually sit with us and point out our mistakes which I think have allowed me to know the areas I have to practice more on.
Most importantly, what I really like about Mr. Russell is his dedication to teach us. When he was my teacher in school, he used to work very hard which motivated my entire class to do well. Even after starting his own centre, Mr. Russell continues to stay up past midnight to respond to our doubts and to give us consultation, which other centres normally do not do. I believe that his passion and dedication in teaching us is an outstanding characteristic which actually motivated me to do my best.
