In the beginning, I was not very strong in my English Language and had actually started to dread English lessons in school. The subject seemed almost impossible to study and every single lesson was extremely boring and dry. However, at TTT, Mr Russell has helped me tremendously and the lessons made me feel more keen and interested in the subject. His unfaltering support and guidance had helped me to not lose all hope for the subject, and had instead helped me to develop a love and enthusiasm towards English.
Personally, I struggle focusing in school, and the teachers may not have the time to give enough attention to each individual student to help them adequately. However, TTT provided many practices and test papers with refined and thorough answers, which helped me to better identify my weakness and to go for the specific drills needed to focus on my weaker areas. With that said, TTT also offers a variety of drill practices and intensive programmes which cater to our needs, and allow us to concentrate and practise more on specific areas. The drill practices had helped me plenty in my learning. On top of that, Mr Russell provides school papers and directs us to focus on certain factors that we should look out for in each paper.
A specific example is in terms of the oral examinations. Mr. Russell provided us with a very thorough content and skills package, covering all the main topics for the oral examination. At first, I thought we would not have much time to study for our oral examinations. However, Mr Russell provided enough time and resources to let us practise on various topics, assessed us accordingly, and gave us constructive feedback on the key factors we should be focusing on. Not only that, Mr Russell had helped us the night before our exams, and offered meetings via Zoom for free to help us improve – which is something many teachers would not be willing to do!
Moreover, the 24-hour consultation provided is available and free for all, which proved to be very beneficial to students! Moreover, we are always offered make-up lessons if we cannot attend class, which I believe is very helpful as our school dismissal timings can fluctuate at times and we might have other sudden commitments.
Mr Russell’s passion and drive for teaching makes him a remarkable and astounding teacher. He is always ready to go to any extent to reach out to his students and to provide them with enough practice so that they are ready to answer any type of question. He is very understanding towards students and personally tracks each student’s performance to keep himself updated on their progress. I would like to thank Mr Russell for all the hardwork and dedication he had put into preparing for our lessons and resources! It was very helpful and it motivated me to do well in my exams and to make him proud! My 3 grade jump to a B3 from the start of Secondary 4 to O levels is all because of his guidance.
TTT is not just a tuition centre that provides practices, but also a home that nurtures every student and develops them to be a better student and person.
