There are many things I like about TTT. However, the one aspect of TTT that I like the most would be the teachers, in particular, Mr Russell. He is extremely kind, caring and thoughtful. He is also really patient with his students and tries to cater to every student’s needs. I was pretty weak in comprehension and I kept failing during school examinations. However, with his guided approach and comprehensive notes about question types, I slowly began to improve. While some may find that tuition lessons tend to be dull and boring, his lessons never fail to crack me up. Mr Russell manages to find a balance between being serious and also being humorous.
Beyond the engaging lessons, I quite enjoyed other aspects of his lesson plan like doing group work. I found it insightful to engage in discussions with my classmates and peers when we were planning to do essays. Although I am not the strongest writer, I managed to learn a lot from others who are more skillful writers. I vividly remember doing an essay on Octopush and the Axe Factor as our hybrid exercises. I learnt how to incorporate descriptive phrases and it helped me to expand on my vocabulary.
Lastly, my favourite set of materials from TTT would most definitely be the O Level Revision Package. This set of notes really enabled me to revise thoroughly prior to my examinations as it compiled everything that has been covered for the upper secondary students. I did not have to dig for my previous notes in order to cover all my bases.
Thanks to Mr Russell and all the materials that have been provided to me, I managed to jump from a F9 grade in semester 2 of Sec 4 to getting a B4 for my O Levels.
